Hard Dog “Hideaway” hitch for ND Miata

A Class 1 hitch (200 lb tongue, 2000 lb trailer weight) with a 1 1/4″ square receiver that is invisible? Yes please!

This hitch is built in two parts – a removable receiver and the permanently installed base unit. When the receiver is in place, you’re set up to tow a small trailer or carry a bike rack. But if you pull it off, the base unit is invisible. So you have a hitch when you need it, but nobody will know your secret when it’s removed.

No drilling is required to install.

Includes hitch pin and all mounting hardware. Equipped with safety chain anchors. Fits with the Club aero bits – there are two positions for the receiver, so it can be run a bit lower to clear the diffuser.

Compatible with our Hush-o-matic exhaust.

Not compatible with the Fiat 124 Spider, as the reverse light is in the way. If you would like one shipped outside the US, or if you’re in Alaska or Hawai’i, please contact Hard Dog Fabrication directly.

Be aware that the stock 2024+muffler is slightly larger, so you’ll likely have slight interference. If you’re open to a bit of metal trimming you should be fine, if you’re not this isn’t the right fit for your car. If you have an aftermarket muffler you’ll likely be fine, but note that we can’t guarantee fitment since there are too many possibilities. 

These will be drop-shipped from the manufacturer. They’re usually kept in stock. If not, depending on where the bars are in the production process, it could take approximately 2-6 weeks for delivery. Since they’re drop-shipped, the tracking number process isn’t automated and could be delayed.
