Filling up your car is really pretty easy, but there’s one major annoyance – where did Mazda expect us to put the cap? Dangle it off that tail so it’ll scratch the paint? Nope. It’ll mostly fit next to the filler neck, but that’s not exactly ideal. This is an easy solution to give you a perfect spot for it. It installs in the underside of the filler lid and gives you a perfect place the hold the filler cap – just give it a quick turn into place. As with all of our 3D-printed parts, this is printed out of Onyx, a carbon fiber infused nylon that’s resistant to many things, including gasoline.
Despite the angled cut, it’s very easy to thread the cap into this piece. This is because of how coarse the threads are. The angled cut is necessary for clearance.
This will only fit factory fuel filler doors, it likely won’t fit non-original fuel filler lids – if your fuel filler door is chrome, whether aftermarket or Mazda, this almost definitely won’t fit.
